FIVE TIPS TO HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT FASTER

At Life Weight Loss we believe in providing a complete care journey for our patients to lose weight (and keep it off). While our expertise in gastric sleeve and bariatric surgery is often why many patients join us, it is our holistic approach to weight loss that ensures lasting weight loss success.

The decision to lose weight is an easy one, the benefits are clear, and the desire is there. However, it is often the long-journey to a healthier weight that deters so many. Many wish there was an easier way. A fast method of losing weight quickly that didn’t cost a huge investment of time and sacrifice of lifestyle. The truth is that there is no immediate way to lose weight without starving yourself (this is not advised under any circumstance). However, there are some things that you can start doing today that will give you a head start toward your weight loss goal.

Here are our tips for faster weight loss:

1. Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juices.

Simply cutting out high sugar drinks from your diet can have a big impact on your weight loss. Less sugar means less calories to burn. Soft drinks and other sugary beverages like juice can be deceptive in the amount of sugar they have. We recommend making a switch to water and opting for no sugar in your coffee or tea.

2.  Drink water before meals

In support of the above tip, there is research that shows that drinking water half an hour before you eat can increase weight loss. The simple act of consuming one full glass of water 30-minutes before you eat will help you digest your food. Too soon before or after can actually dilute the digestive juices, so be mindful of the time.

3. Weigh yourself everyday

It might not sound like a great idea but weighing yourself daily has been shown to encourage weight loss. By checking your weight on the scales each morning, you are promoting a lifestyle of self-regulation. The study, which took place over three months, showed that frequent self-weighing was associated with greater weight losses.

4. Get a full 8-hours sleeps, every night

Sleep is one of the most underrated ingredients for a healthy lifestyle. A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (2010) discovered that participants that only slept 5.5 hours a night lost less body fat than when they slept 8.5 hours. Many health professionals consider sleep to be as important as diet and exercise for a healthy lifestyle.

5. Eat whole, unprocessed foods

Building your diet on clean, wholesome foods is very important. Not only are they better for you, but they also are less likely to cause overeating. Fresh fruits and vegetables, grains and legumes are all much better for you and your digestive system than processed foods. Processed foods are much more likely to contain salt, sugar, preservatives or other flavour-enhancing additives.
